Chapter 517

Liam had given his men one simple order—deal with Margaret. Everyone in his inner circle knew Olivia was the only woman he'd ever loved, so they showed no mercy. Yet Margaret couldn't blame Olivia; she could only curse her own stupidity.

When Margaret saw Liam remove his mask, her breath caught in her throat. "I thought you never took that off," she rasped, her voice trembling with shock.

Liam merely shot her an icy glare before turning away. Olivia had no interest in engaging with her either.

Isabelle rolled her eyes dramatically. "He only takes it off around my mother because he trusts her completely," she said pointedly. "You'd never see his face otherwise." The words struck Margaret like a physical blow. Despite her young age, Isabelle was far from naive.

Alistair returned, and Isabelle had been eagerly awaiting this moment. Yet he ignored everyone. Though Olivia tried to comfort her daughter, Isabelle remained despondent. She blamed Margaret for locking Alistair away and drugging him into forgetting them.

Understanding the implication, Margaret sneered viciously, "Don't get too comfortable. I doubt your mother and Liam will last. You'll always be fatherless."

Bang! Olivia slammed her spoon down with such force the table shook. Her piercing gaze locked onto Margaret. "Do you truly believe I won't touch you just because you're controlling my grandfather?"

Panicked, Margaret tried to reach Alistair for protection. But bodyguards blocked her path. Alistair continued eating, completely indifferent to Margaret's plight. In his altered state, having Margaret nearby was all that mattered.

Margaret's face flushed crimson with rage before draining of all color. With no other choice, she dropped to her knees and apologized to Isabelle. When she rose, her eyes burned with undisguised hatred for the three of them.

That night, both Olivia and Isabelle were struck with excruciating stomach pains. Liam, who hadn't left yet, rushed to their side when he got the news. Seeing their ashen faces, he felt genuine panic for the first time in his life. But he quickly composed himself and ordered Winston to get them to Mercy Hospital immediately.

As they prepared to leave, determination flashed in Liam's eyes. He called Sebastian, instructing him to come at once and keep watch over Margaret.

Thanks to their swift arrival at the hospital, Olivia and Isabelle would recover with treatment. But Olivia's pregnancy complicated matters—she nearly miscarried. Liam had suspected she was pregnant when he saw her at the hospital earlier. At the time, she'd seemed despondent and unwilling to see him.

Assuming she wanted to terminate the pregnancy, Liam had felt a pang of sorrow but respected her decision. Now, as Olivia lay drenched in sweat, her face ghostly pale, she clung to Liam's hand and murmured deliriously, "My baby...save my baby..."

Liam's composure cracked. "You...you want to keep it?" he asked, voice thick with emotion.
