Chapter 228

Evelyn was seething. If Seraphina wasn't some high-society princess, she would have unleashed a verbal storm that would make a pirate captain blush. Clenching her jaw, Evelyn snapped, "Listen, Liam's been working himself to the bone lately, and as his girlfriend, it's my duty to look after him."

She imagined setting an elaborate dinner table for Liam, waiting for his return. To emphasize her point, she even showed Seraphina photos of their shared meals - happy memories staring the other woman in the face.

But Seraphina, ever the bold one, didn't back down. With a smirk that could sour fresh milk, she countered, "Oh, Liam and my cousin Donovan have important business dealings. They'll certainly have many dinners together, and I'll definitely be joining them."

The audacity! Seraphina even had the nerve to ask Evelyn about Liam's food allergies or dietary preferences for their future meals. This was a new low for Evelyn, who was used to being the taker, never the one being taken from.

Though Seraphina appeared victorious, irritation simmered beneath her composed exterior. Just as her temper threatened to boil over, she spotted Olivia standing by the doorway.

Seraphina's eyes narrowed dangerously. "What do you want?"

Olivia strolled in, fingers dancing across her phone screen. "Listen up, Miss Kensington. I'm here to propose a deal."

Seraphina scoffed, her laughter dripping with sarcasm. "Are you even aware of your current situation, Olivia? You think you're in any position to negotiate with me?"

Unshaken by the venomous tone, Olivia kept typing. "I'm pregnant, and this baby deserves the best. That's where you come in. I heard you're struggling with your grandfather's birthday gift. He appreciates fine craftsmanship, doesn't he? I can help you create something special."

Seraphina's lips twisted in contempt. "Do I look like a fool to you?" she spat. "I could easily buy whatever I want. Hell, I could commission a replica. Why on earth would I need your help?"

Olivia remained composed. "Because reputation matters to you. If there were better options, you'd have taken them already."

Despite Seraphina's delicate appearance, Olivia saw fierce determination burning in her eyes. This wasn't someone who could be easily manipulated - her pride was clearly at stake.

The Kensingtons were Eldermere royalty. Wealth flowed through their veins, and their name commanded respect, even though they weren't directly involved in local businesses.

In a family that practically worshipped exquisite craftsmanship, a cheap imitation would never suffice. Every Kensington had an expert eye, and Seraphina would rather die than present anything less than perfection.

Olivia wasn't playing games. Her request was reasonable, all things considered.

Her fingers flew across the screen. "Look him up yourself."

Following Olivia's direction, Seraphina found Gregory's studio profile.

The first thing that caught her attention was a pinned video showcasing the very gift Olivia had made during her apprenticeship. While her skills weren't refined back then, Gregory had cherished it nonetheless.
