Chapter 412
Victoria's eyes flashed with uncertainty before hardening into pure venom. "Don't pretend you're superior, Olivia! If you're so mighty, kill me now! Do it! Because if you don't, I swear I'll destroy everything you love. You should have rotted overseas! Why did you return? You're disgusting, and that wretched daughter of yours is no better."
Olivia's expression turned glacial, her gaze piercing through Victoria like shards of ice. "Then perhaps I've been too lenient with you," she said, her voice sharp enough to cut glass. "Victoria, do you truly believe this is the extent of my capabilities?"
Still sprawled on the floor, Victoria let out a bitter laugh. "Prove it then! I've already lost Daniel - I have nothing left to lose."
A knowing smirk played on Olivia's lips as she deliberately ignored the challenge. Without another word, she turned on her heel and exited the room.
In the adjacent chamber, a cluster of journalists stood trembling, their cameras shaking in sweaty palms. These were the very reporters Victoria had hired to tarnish Olivia's reputation.
Olivia crooked a finger at one particularly eager-looking man. He scurried forward, his smile oozing false charm. "Ms. Kensington, everything will be handled exactly as you requested."
Olivia gave a curt nod. "You recorded everything?"
"Every damning word," the reporter confirmed with relish. "I can edit the footage to show Victoria as an unhinged woman obsessed with her husband's imagined infidelities. We'll portray her mental deterioration - how she kept Daniel prisoner in their home. Every woman who ever spoke to him will appear as another victim of her paranoia."
He paused, his grin widening. "Given the Ellington family's prominence, this scandal will dominate headlines for weeks. My colleagues are already prepared to run identical stories - Victoria's reputation will be ashes by morning."
A cold chuckle escaped Olivia's lips, her eyes devoid of warmth. "You seem quite experienced at character assassination. How many lives have you ruined with your little 'stories'?"
The reporter remained unfazed. "Ruined? Hardly. If these people didn't provide the material, I wouldn't have a job." His smug expression made Olivia's skin crawl.
Her mocking smile turned predatory. "How would you like it if someone dug up all your dirty secrets and splashed them across every tabloid? Would that be... newsworthy enough for you?"
The color drained from the reporter's face, his confidence evaporating.
Before he could stutter a response, Olivia waved a dismissive hand to her security team. "Remove him. And ensure he never works in this city again."
The man was dragged away, his pathetic whimpers echoing down the corridor. The remaining reporters stood frozen, barely daring to breathe.
Olivia sank onto a plush sofa, massaging her temples. "You all have the footage?"
After an awkward silence, one brave soul spoke up. "We understand perfectly. The truth about today's events will be reported. The entire city will know."
"Excellent." Some tension left Olivia's shoulders. She instructed her team to maintain surveillance on Victoria. This wasn't cruelty - it was necessity. Victoria wouldn't be going anywhere until this matter was settled.
