Chapter 505
Liam chuckled softly, shaking his head. "As long as they're happy, nothing else matters, right?"
Sebastian rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. He never realized Liam could be such an incurable romantic.
Meanwhile, the turmoil surrounding Sinclair Enterprises was finally settling down. In a surprising move, Liam had the company transfer documents delivered directly to Olivia.
Olivia didn't hesitate for a second. She'd already agreed to this arrangement beforehand. Handing over tens of millions to Liam, she knew him too well. Liam simply accepted the money without comment.
Sinclair Enterprises continued operating under its usual management, though Olivia had implemented several new policies.
When the day arrived for Olivia to leave Halstead with Isabelle, Evelyn and Beatrice came to the airport to see them off. Evelyn, usually so composed, found herself unexpectedly emotional.
Olivia gave her a helpless smile. "Don't cry. I'll be back before you know it," she reassured them.
Beatrice, wiping her own tears, suddenly pulled Evelyn into a deep bow before Olivia. Flustered, Olivia quickly raised them both up. "You're making this harder than it needs to be."
Evelyn dabbed at her eyes, her voice trembling yet firm. "Miss Kensington, if you ever need anything in the future, just say the word. Even if it costs me my life, I'll do it for you. If you don't tell me when you're in trouble, I'll take it as you not trusting me. We owe you that much."
Olivia didn't argue. Just then, the boarding announcement echoed through the terminal.
Once settled in their seats, Olivia noticed someone sitting nearby. A quick glance made her heart skip a beat - it was Liam, unmasked, his striking features fully visible.
Olivia was stunned speechless. Clearing her throat, she whispered, "What are you doing here? Aren't you worried about being recognized?"
Liam's eyes sparkled with mischief. "No need to worry. I booked out the entire first-class cabin."
Olivia frowned slightly. "Shouldn't Alexander be sitting here? Why is it you?"
Alexander had mentioned a business exchange in Crestwood just days before. Since Olivia was returning there, they'd planned to travel together. Having no reason to refuse, Olivia had sent Alexander her flight details, and he'd secured the seat beside hers. Liam simply smiled knowingly, offering no explanation.
At that very moment, Alexander was rushing back to Montgomery Group headquarters. His team reported a major security breach caused by hackers. If not contained immediately, the company's confidential data would be compromised.
The vice president met Alexander, visibly distressed. Wiping sweat from his brow, he said, "Sir, our firewall is state-of-the-art. I've confirmed none of our employees were involved."
Seeing his team's worried expressions, Alexander gritted his teeth. "We're clearly being targeted," he muttered.
The vice president nodded urgently. "Who would dare? We should contact the authorities immediately." In Crestwood or Halstead, challenging the Montgomery family openly was unheard of. Whoever was behind this was either incredibly bold or extremely powerful. When had Montgomery Group ever provoked such enemies?
Alexander quickly stopped him. "Don't bother calling the police. It won't help. Whoever did this isn't afraid of investigations."
