Chapter 305

Olivia watched as Celeste's face remained eerily calm. The assistant didn't even attempt to warn Seraphina about the impending danger. This could only mean one thing - Celeste was either working with the attacker to target Seraphina, or she knew the assailant and had anticipated the entire incident.

The officers exchanged knowing glances, their suspicion now fully directed at Celeste.

Under their intense scrutiny, Celeste began fidgeting uncontrollably, her eyes darting around the room like a trapped animal. Olivia felt a cold satisfaction. Seraphina's so-called loyal assistant had clearly been compromised long before today.

Noticing Celeste's obvious distress, the police immediately took her into custody.

In a panic, Celeste blurted out, "It wasn't Olivia! It was another maid from the estate, dressed exactly like her. I was furious that while Miss Kensington lay dying, Olivia remained unharmed. I wanted to frame her!"

After consulting with Donovan, the authorities followed Celeste's lead to track down the real perpetrator.

They quickly apprehended the true culprit and discovered an identical dress hidden in her quarters, confirming Celeste's confession.

The maid admitted to pushing Seraphina into the lake, claiming she'd been driven to it by Seraphina's constant abuse.

Other staff members corroborated stories of Seraphina's cruel behavior.

With Seraphina now awake and refusing to press charges, the police settled for briefly detaining the attacker before closing the case.

Olivia, now completely exonerated, turned to Julian, observing the storm of emotions playing across his face.

She offered him a small, knowing smile.

Julian snapped back to reality, his voice thick with feigned remorse. "I'm sorry, Olivia. My emotions got the better of me. With Seraphina being my cousin and her health deteriorating, I let my worries cloud my judgment. That servant deceived us all. You won't hold this against me, will you?"

Olivia shook her head, her expression a perfect blend of forgiveness and warning as she signed. Nearby servants quickly translated: "Of course not. But Julian, next time you try to play games, remember - don't celebrate before the victory. Your tells are painfully obvious."

Julian's face darkened instantly.

Olivia continued signing with precise movements: "You should visit Seraphina in the hospital. Neither of us are fools. I suspect she has quite a lot to discuss with you."

Julian's jaw tightened as he bit out, "She's family. Of course I'll visit. I've been sick with worry since her accident. But thanks for the reminder." With that, he stormed away.

Olivia's gaze then shifted to Liam, who was saying his goodbyes to Donovan.

Liam pointedly avoided her eyes, maintaining an aloof demeanor as if he hadn't just fiercely defended her moments before.
