Chapter 166

Olivia glanced up and caught the troubled look on Sebastian's face. She didn't push for answers. If he was keeping silent, it meant Liam had ordered him to.

A shadow flickered across Olivia's expression as she nodded in silent understanding. She wouldn't pry.

"Take good care of Liam," Olivia signed before turning to leave. She had other matters to attend to.

Sebastian gave a tense nod. "Let me arrange your transportation," he offered.

Footsteps suddenly echoed through the corridor.

"You witch! What have you done to my son?" Margaret Winslow stormed in, her palm connecting sharply with Olivia's cheek before anyone could react.

The slap rang out, stunning everyone present.

Even Sebastian hadn't anticipated the sudden attack as Margaret arrived with her entourage. His headache intensified. How had news spread so fast?

Bodyguards immediately moved to shield Olivia.

Sebastian stepped forward with practiced diplomacy. "Mrs. Winslow, please remain calm. Mr. Blackwood simply collapsed from exhaustion. Olivia had nothing to do with it."

"Do you take me for a fool?" Margaret's eyes blazed with accusation. "Evelyn told me everything! This scheming woman has been tormenting my son for weeks, causing him sleepless nights! And today - who knows what poison she fed him during their outing?"

Her icy glare turned to Olivia. "I know about the divorce. I've heard you've already found another man. Liam probably wants you to leave with nothing, so you're trying to harm him, aren't you?"

Olivia touched her stinging cheek. Margaret's imagination never ceased to amaze her - how easily she spun elaborate tales from thin air.

Pushing past the bodyguard, Olivia stood firm before Margaret and typed: "You think I'd hurt Liam for money?"

Margaret scoffed. "What other reason could there be?"

Olivia's fingers flew across her phone. "If money mattered to me, you wouldn't have gotten your hands on those assets years ago."

Margaret's expression faltered momentarily with guilt.

Before Henry Winslow passed, he'd left Olivia a substantial inheritance - cash, businesses, properties. No one understood why the old man had been so generous to her.

The envy had caused endless arguments between Margaret and Liam.

Though their relationship was already strained during their engagement, Liam had honored his grandfather's wishes. The assets belonged to Olivia, period.

Unable to bear watching Liam caught in the middle, Olivia had voluntarily surrendered most of the inheritance, keeping only a portion of the money.

If she truly cared about wealth, she wouldn't have given up so much. Over the years, she'd endured Margaret's constant bullying and cold treatment.

Under Olivia's steady gaze, Margaret shifted uncomfortably but doubled down. "Who knows what you were really thinking? Maybe it was all an act to secure your position as Mrs. Blackwood. I've met plenty of gold diggers like you."

She added sharply, "I've already called the police."

Catherine Winslow sneered, "Why waste words? Let the authorities handle her. They'll uncover whatever she's done."

"The police?" Sebastian's eyes narrowed. This was escalating dangerously.

Olivia typed calmly: "I'll wait here for them."

Margaret shot her a venomous look before rushing toward Liam's room.

Evelyn paused as she passed Olivia, arms crossed. "See? I suggested calling the police. I told them you probably poisoned Liam. Everyone believed me instantly - even your in-laws. Who would take your side?"

Olivia simply signed that Evelyn was an idiot.

Confused, Evelyn looked to Sebastian for translation.

Understanding Olivia's gesture, Sebastian gave Evelyn a frosty look. "Miss Hartley, so it was your idea to involve the police. Just know Mr. Blackwood won't be pleased when he wakes."

Evelyn bristled. "Why would he be angry? I'm protecting him! They went out together, and now he's unconscious while she's perfectly fine."

Olivia ignored Evelyn's rant, which only infuriated her more.

Striding forward in her designer heels, Evelyn leaned close to whisper, "I've arranged a little surprise for you outside. Once the police take you away, by tomorrow everyone will know you tried to murder Liam out of jealousy. You'll be the villain. And when he divorces you? Not a single penny."

Olivia remained unruffled as she typed: "Things won't go as you planned."

She was certain Liam would intervene if necessary.

While Evelyn remained oblivious, Olivia understood the situation perfectly.

It wasn't about intelligence - her years with Liam gave her insight into his world.

When Liam collapsed, Sebastian hadn't called an ambulance but took him directly to Mercy Hospital. The medical team's efficiency suggested this wasn't their first emergency with Liam.

Sebastian's secrecy about Liam's condition told Olivia this was a private health matter not meant for public knowledge.

Yet Evelyn, in her zeal to destroy Olivia, had broadcast the incident citywide.

Olivia didn't know how Liam would react to Evelyn's meddling, but she was certain he'd quash any damaging rumors. She had nothing to fear.

Right on cue, the police arrived.

Olivia cooperated fully.

As expected, Evelyn had summoned a horde of reporters to the scene.
