Chapter 266

Liam let out a weary sigh. "Save your breath about transparency. Margaret never intended to let you speak," he said bluntly, his voice laced with quiet resignation.

Natalie's brows knitted together in confusion. "What exactly are you suggesting?"

Ignoring her question entirely, Liam turned on his heel and strode out of the hospital room.

Richard was lurking outside like a predator waiting to pounce. The moment the door opened, he lunged forward, grabbing Liam by the collar with trembling hands.

Liam's towering height made Richard's attempt at intimidation laughable.

Richard's eyes narrowed into dangerous slits. "What the hell did you say to our mother? One wrong word and you're finished!" he snarled, spit flying from his lips.

A slow, knowing smile spread across Liam's face. "Interesting how little trust exists between you and Margaret."

The casual way Liam addressed their mother by name, without an ounce of respect, made Richard's grip falter momentarily. Clearly, Margaret still held a grudge against Liam.

Not that Richard minded. He'd meticulously orchestrated the "accident" with Margaret's car, leaving no trace of the truth.

All the evidence he'd presented to Margaret pointed squarely at Liam as the mastermind. She should still be convinced of his guilt.

Releasing Liam with a shove, Richard flashed a smug grin. "Jealous much, brother? You think you've got it all, but you're nothing. Not even our mother wants you. How pathetic."

Liam remained as calm as still waters. His voice, smooth as aged whiskey, delivered its lethal blow. "Only losers call others losers, Richard. I don't want your garbage, yet you're obsessed with what's mine."

Richard's smirk evaporated like morning dew. "You'll regret this, Liam!" he exploded, veins bulging in his forehead. "Mark my words - I'll destroy you. You've clung to that CEO title long enough. My turn now!"

With that final threat, Richard stormed back into Margaret's room.

As Liam exited the hospital, he nearly collided with Sebastian.

Sebastian leaned in close, his whisper barely audible. "Everything's arranged per your instructions, Mr. Blackwood."

Liam merely nodded, the ghost of a smile playing on his lips. "Let's go."

Sebastian's forehead creased with concern as he murmured, "We're leaving? But they're planning to deal with your mother today and frame you for everything!"

A dry chuckle escaped Liam's lips, his expression unreadable. "I gave Margaret a choice. She refused. I have my own plans. They can't touch me."

As Liam spoke these final words, his gaze locked unexpectedly with Victor's across the hallway.

Noticing the ice in Liam's eyes, Victor responded with a taunting smirk.

Liam simply inclined his head in the barest acknowledgment before looking away.

The casual dismissal ignited Victor's fury.

Turning to Miranda, his eyes glinting with malice, Victor hissed, "Tell Richard to move tonight. Make it quick."
