Chapter 299

Alistair motioned to Winston, signaling him to assist Julian.

Winston moved quickly to Julian's side, offering a firm grip as the young man swayed on his feet.

"Mr. Julian Kensington, I understand your distress," Winston said in a calming tone. "But right now, our priority must be saving her and uncovering the truth behind this incident."

"You must stay strong for Seraphina," he added softly.

Julian wiped his tear-streaked face, his expression shifting from grief to barely contained fury. "This wasn't an accident," he spat. "She was pushed. There are witnesses. The security cameras may have been down initially, but I've ordered technicians to recover any available footage. The culprit won't escape justice."

At that crucial moment, a doctor rushed forward, his face grim as he mopped his brow. "We must transport Miss Kensington to Mercy Hospital immediately. Her condition is critical - she could stop breathing at any moment."

As the group hurried to get Seraphina to the hospital, Frederick and his family mobilized to accompany her - all except Julian, who stood his ground.

Winston observed Julian's decision with concern. "Mr. Kensington, won't you join them at the hospital?"

Julian's jaw tightened. "I need to stay and discover what really happened here. Seraphina didn't just fall - someone pushed her."

Olivia watched Julian's stubborn insistence with growing unease. If he truly cared about Seraphina, why wasn't he rushing to the hospital? His singular focus on finding a perpetrator seemed odd, especially without concrete evidence of foul play.

Her thoughts kept returning to the mysterious box Liam had sent her earlier. The news of Seraphina's accident only deepened her sense of foreboding.

Winston proposed a solution. "Let's determine who wasn't present in the main hall earlier."

This suggestion immediately sparked whispers and sideways glances, with several guests eyeing Olivia suspiciously.

However, with Alistair's obvious protection, no one dared confront her directly.

A timid voice finally spoke up. "Olivia was also missing from the main hall earlier. Did she see anything?"

All attention suddenly focused on Olivia.

She remained composed, shaking her head. A nearby servant interpreted her response. "She didn't go in that direction. Several people can confirm she returned to her room to retrieve some items."

Donovan immediately stepped forward. "I can vouch for Olivia. I personally handed her something, and she remained with me before going to her room. She had no motive and saw nothing. We're chasing ghosts here - it's unlikely Seraphina was pushed at all."

"Why are we even questioning Olivia?" Julian suddenly came to her defense, his voice turning sharp. "She and Seraphina may have their differences, but they're family. Anyone spreading baseless accusations will answer to me!"
