Chapter 311

Seraphina's gaze was a frozen storm of rage and contempt.

"Celeste, you imbecile!" she snapped icily. "You nearly collided with Olivia! Apologize immediately! She's someone of importance now, unlike you - a worthless nobody. Haven't you heard how my grandfather and Donovan hold her in high esteem? Offending her could ruin you."

Trembling, Celeste shook her head frantically. "I didn't mean to-"

"Then why are you still standing there?" Seraphina cut in with a mocking laugh.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone in the corridor, Celeste bowed deeply before Olivia, humiliation burning her cheeks. "My deepest apologies, Miss Sinclair. It was an accident. Please forgive me."

Celeste dropped to her knees with a heavy thud.

Olivia's eyes widened at the unexpected gesture. She quickly signaled to one of her security team, who stepped forward to help Celeste up. "Enough of this," the guard said firmly in a no-nonsense tone.

After Celeste had scurried away, Olivia entered Seraphina's hospital room. Seraphina tracked her every movement, her lips curling into a sneer that barely concealed her disdain.

"Long time no see, Olivia," Seraphina drawled. "Playing the grand lady now, are we? Did Donovan fill your head with fantasies about being a true Kensington? Don't be naive. He's just using you to manipulate my grandfather. Others might be fooled, but I see you for what you are - a fraud."

Olivia exhaled sharply in frustration. Her fingers flew across her phone screen before the text-to-speech function voiced her words.

"I used to think you had some intelligence. Now I see you're just stubborn. You can't accept that your own brother tried to kill you, and that only sheer luck saved you from drowning."

"Have you considered what would happen if Julian succeeded in framing me? If he'd sent me to prison for pushing you into the water, imagine his rage when the truth came out? You'd be the one suffering his wrath."

Seraphina froze, Olivia's words striking a chord. It was no secret her relationship with Olivia was strained, and Alistair had repeatedly warned her about this. At home, she lacked the effortless charm Julian always displayed.

Biting her lip stubbornly, Seraphina shot back, "Don't try to turn me against my own brother. He's family and only has my best interests at heart. Why should I believe you over him?"

Olivia met her gaze steadily. Her phone spoke again, "You already know the truth in your heart. I came here only to make my position clear. I never wanted this feud between us, nor do I care to hold you accountable for what you've done to me. I don't understand your hatred, but we could find a way to coexist peacefully."

Seraphina burst into harsh laughter. "Coexist? With you? Why would I ever want that?"

A coldness entered Olivia's eyes. She didn't attempt further persuasion - Seraphina had made her choice. If she insisted on hostility, there was nothing more Olivia could do.

As Olivia turned to leave, Seraphina called after her mockingly, "Leaving so soon? No more attempts to win me over? What if I told you there might be something that could change my mind?"
