Chapter 314
Olivia turned her full attention to Isabelle, completely ignoring Seraphina's petty behavior.
Caught off guard by Olivia's unexpected reaction, Seraphina's carefully constructed mask slipped for just a moment. Her lips formed a childish pout as she turned to Margaret with urgency. "Margaret, look at her! It's already difficult enough to select the perfect gift for Donovan, and now I'm worried Olivia might choose exactly what I wanted."
Margaret's face darkened as she approached Olivia with a stern expression. "First you take Seraphina's belongings, and now you want to steal the gift she intended for Donovan too? Ever since you returned, the relationship between Seraphina and Donovan has been deteriorating. This is clearly all your doing!"
She didn't stop there, her voice growing icier with each accusation. "What exactly is your game here, Olivia? You're an outsider, yet you insist on lingering around the Kensington family, sowing nothing but discord."
Olivia remained perfectly composed as she met Margaret's gaze. "I'm genuinely curious, Margaret. In what ways have I been this troublemaker you describe?"
Margaret answered without hesitation, her posture rigid. "The Kensington family was perfectly happy before you showed up. Seraphina has always had delicate health and was cherished by Alistair and Donovan. My husband and Frederick worked together harmoniously. But ever since you attached yourself to our family, everything's fallen apart. The evidence is undeniable."
Ignoring the accusations, Olivia gave a small smile and stepped past Margaret to address Seraphina directly. "Fascinating. So this is the story you've been feeding Margaret."
Both Donovan's and Alistair's disdain for Seraphina stemmed from her unexplained hostility toward Olivia. Beyond that, their disappointment had deepened when Seraphina chose to involve herself with Julian and others' schemes.
Despite everything, Donovan had never been cruel to Seraphina. They were, after all, cousins.
Yet Seraphina, fully aware of Frederick's ambitions to usurp Donovan's position, had willingly become a pawn in Frederick's elaborate games.
Olivia wrestled with doubts. Margaret was Donovan's mother. Was she truly oblivious to the quiet battles within the Kensington family, or had she chosen to side with Frederick out of some twisted resentment toward her?
A heavy silence settled over the room.
Margaret's frustration reached its boiling point. She was painfully aware of the fractures within the Kensington clan, particularly the strained relationship between her immediate family and Frederick's branch. She found the entire situation ridiculous and blamed Olivia entirely. Since Olivia's return, Margaret had watched helplessly as her husband and son's attention shifted to this outsider, leaving Seraphina in the shadows. In Margaret's eyes, Seraphina had been the family's darling since childhood due to her fragile health. Blind to the truth, Margaret believed everyone else was ignoring the unfair treatment Seraphina had endured at Olivia's hands.
Overcome by these thoughts, Margaret's patience finally snapped. She waved her hand dismissively at the surrounding guards. "Enough of this. Remove this woman immediately. This VIP room was reserved for Seraphina and me. What business does she even have here?"
The guards exchanged uncertain glances before reluctantly approaching Olivia, signaling for her to leave.
Throughout the unfolding drama, Isabelle's eyes sparkled with barely contained curiosity.
Olivia, however, didn't budge. Gently moving Isabelle aside, she spoke with icy authority. "This VIP room was reserved for me. It's only open today because I arrived late, and you took advantage of that."
